IBJJF Pan Americans Tournament

A BIG congratulations to everyone who participate and represented Team Oyama and Lotus Club!!

A special shout out to Russell Pary who won his division and was promoted to Blue Belt on the podium and to Juan Avilar for taking third in his division. Good job boys!!!

More upcoming events...

-Carla Esparza set to make her return into the cage at Evolution Fights in Clovis, New Mexico on April 15th. She'll be facing hometown favorite Ya Ya Anzaldua.

-Romie Adanza will be squaring off against his first "Thai" opponent May 28th at Pala Casino. From there, it's off to the Phillipines for a WBC match up.

-Giva Santana's fight for Shark Fights, originally set for April, has been pushed back to May in New Mexico.

Another great weekend for Team Oyama!

Saturday March 12 - Jared Lara brings home a victory in Respect In The Cage via FIRST ROUND KNOCK OUT!! This brings us to a 7-0 record for 2011!

Saturday March 12 - Lotus Club brings home second place overall at Copa Pacifica BJJ tournament this weekend. Erica Plummer and Shantel Hose both take the GOLD in their weight class at Copa Pacifica BJJ Tournament! Congrats to them and all who participated.

Saturday March 12 - Bao Quach wins the bronze medal at ADCC Trials in San Diego.

Adding to the gi classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, we have just added gi classes to Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 - 10:00pm.

The Gi class schedule is now as follows: Monday/Wednesday: 7:00 - 8:30pm
Tuesday/Thursday: 8:30 - 10:00pm
Friday (open mat): 5:00 - 7:00pm
Saturday (open mat): 2:00 - 4:00pm

Lotus Club BJJ updates...

Lotus Club Jiu Jitsu prodigy, Fabio "Negao" Nascimento is set to make his return to Team Oyama March 18th!

Upon his return, that will total 6 black belts training and teaching at Lotus Club.

LAST THING...we have expanded the number of gi classes offered at Lotus Club. We have added a Tuesday/Thursday class from 8:30-10:00pm.

MARCH MADNESS!

This past weekend Team Oyama went 2-0 on the Muay Thai scene at the MTAA National Muay Thai Championship at Commerce Casino. Oscar Sanchez pulled a "W" over Kha Tran via unanimous decision and Ron Scolesdang, who was a last minute replacement on the card, did the same against his opponent, Beto Rodriguez.
