Adanza KOs to another belt!

Romie Adanza captures the IKKC Bantamweight title via Knockout at 3rd round via knee to the head! The fight, held this past Saturday at the Pala sports center, featured Adanza and Thailand native Thanit Watthanaya.

This Saturday, May 28, Romie Adanza will be squaring off against Faabrataan Por. Peechaaa out of Thailand. The WCK World Championship Muay Thai fights will be held at the Pala Fitness Center (about a mile past Pala Casino).

McCall with another WIN!

Team Oyama's Ian McCall is proving himself to be unstoppable...

First, the impressive upset over previously number one Jussier da Silva; and now stripping Dustin Ortiz of his "undefeated" status tonight.

McCall dominated over Ortiz both in striking and takedowns as he takes the fight with a sweeping unanimous decision of 30-26!!

Next stop for McCall is the Tachi Palace TITLE SHOT!!

Laith "The King" Salih takes the big W at this year's California Pankration Tournament this past Saturday!

Anthony Frank, Brent Cooper, and Ron Scolesdang all made their pro-debut this Saturday in Pomona at Respect In The Cage. Both Cooper and Frank came out victorious over their oopponents, but Scolesdang's fight was stopped early due to questionable doctor stoppage. The premature stoppage will be appealed

This Wednesday, April 20th, Olympic medalist Rulon Gardner is holding a Greco Roman Clinic at Team Oyama. The clinic is $20 to attend and is from 5:30-8:30.

This Saturday Ron Scolesdang, Brent Cooper, and Anthony Frank are fighting at Fox Theater in Pomona for Respect in the Cage.

Esparza wins in 53 seconds!

This past Friday, Carla Esparza entered the cage for the first time in 2001 in Clovis New Mexico. Esparza was victorious over hometown favorite Ya Ya Anzaldua after finishing her with a rear naked choke 53 seconds into the first round. Esparza is expected to compete in Bellator this summer.

More BJJ classes effective IMMEDIATELY!

As we all know, Fabio "Negao" Nascimento (Lotus Club Black Belt) made his big return to America and Team Oyama last week. To make things even better is that he will now be teaching Gi BJJ classes at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

So all you lunch break warriors that like to get your work out on your lunch hour, come on in!

Fight between Esparza and Jessica Aguilar in the works

Verbal agreementshave been made between both Esparza's and Aguilar's camps for a bout to be scheduled for late June of this year.

The match up will most likely be held at the Bellator 46 card in Hollywood, Florida.

-Carla Esparza set to make her return into the cage at Evolution Fights in Clovis, New Mexico on April 15th. She'll be facing hometown favorite Ya Ya Anzaldua.

Saturday March 12 - Jared Lara brings home a victory in Respect In The Cage via FIRST ROUND KNOCK OUT!! This brings us to a 7-0 record for 2011!

Saturday March 12 - Lotus Club brings home second place overall at Copa Pacifica BJJ tournament this weekend. Erica Plummer and Shantel Hose both take the GOLD in their weight class at Copa Pacifica BJJ Tournament! Congrats to them and all who participated.

Saturday March 12 - Bao Quach wins the bronze medal at ADCC Trials in San Diego.

This past weekend Team Oyama went 2-0 on the Muay Thai scene at the MTAA National Muay Thai Championship at Commerce Casino. Oscar Sanchez pulled a "W" over Kha Tran via unanimous decision and Ron Scolesdang, who was a last minute replacement on the card, did the same against his opponent, Beto Rodriguez.

Del Rosario remains undefeated

Two weeks ago, Shane del Rosario entered the ring, along with Lavar Johnson, to exit the ring with another "W". Del Rosario, bringing the submission upset with an armbar, ended the fight with seconds to go in the first round.

Del Rosario and Johnson fought for the coveted spot of the alternate for the tournament. Shane relinquished his alternate position to Fedor Emilianenko, as he lost his bout by TKO.

2011 Streak Continues!

Ian "Mr. Creepy" McCall is now the top 125lb-er in the world!! McCall, bringing the upset against Jussier "Formiga" Da Silva, stole the title last weekend at Tachi Casino. Ian is now in contention for a title shot.


Aaron "Slam" Wetherspoon makes his return back into the cage with a vengeance!!! Squaring off against Reale, Slam swept the fight with a unanimous decision this past weekend in Riverside, CA.

Lotus Club represents at NABJJF this weekend!

Weekend Recap

Bao Quach took second place in his division when he competed in the Abu Dhabi trials in Las Vegas this passed weekend. Congrats Bao!!

And another big congrats to the three amateur Muay Thai fighters (Mike McKinney, Anthony Frank, and Andy Chiu), all who won their fights Saturday night.

The guys of Team Oyama get 2011 started with a bang -

Always exciting to watch, Ian McCall will be going toe to toe with #1 ranked Jussier "Formiga" Da Silva on Febuary 18th at Tachi Palace Casino.

Heavy hitter Brent Cooper makes his way back into the ring Saturday Febuary 26th against Total MMA's Hector Carillo. The fight will be held at the Riverside Convention Center.

After a brief hiatus, Oscar Sanchez is set to return to the Muay Thai ring March 5th at Commerce Casino in the City of Commerce.

Ron Scolesdang will be making his pro debut March 12 for Respect in the Cage.

Del Rosario to take part in STRIKEFORCE Tournament

Team Oyama's Shane Del Rosario will be fighting in an eight-man heavyweight tournament put ony Strikeforce on February 12th. Del Rosario will be squaring off against Lavar "Big" Johnson.

The fight will be broadcasted live on SHOWTIME and is headlined by Fedor Emilianenko who is fighting Antonia "Big Foot" Silva.

BIG Weekend coming up!

Hi everyone, Team Oyama's participating in some big things this weekend - both in the ring and on the mat.

Many of our grapplers/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guys (and girl) are heading up to Vegas to roll in the Abu Dhabi qualifyer tournament. If they win, they recieve a trip to Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and a spot in the prestigious Abu Dhabi Combat Club tournament in May.

On the local front, several of our amatuer MMA and Muay Thai fighters will be throwing down in smoker fights in LA this Saturday, January 29th. Come show some support and catch some serious Muay Thai action.
